Yerevan State Puppet Theatre Named After Hovhannes Toumanyan
In 1935, Yerevan State Puppet Theater named after Hovhannes Tumanyna was founded. The theater was founded by Sofya Bejanyan, Gevork Arekelyan, Pavlos Boroyan and Araksya Arabeyan. The first performance was Samuel Marshak's "Naughty Petik".
Many famous directors participated in the creative life of the theater: Levon Kalantar, Vardan Achemyan, Tigran Shamirkhad, etc. Currently, the director and artistic director of the theater is Ruben Babayan.
